A friend showed me the live performance of Andrew Bird "A Nervous Tic Motion" at Bonnaroo when I was 20 years old. It was the first time I saw anyone looping instruments live. I was shook and shocked! He was playing violin, guitar, singing, and whistling with a live band. It opened a whole new world into what was possible from recording to live performances. It also introduced me into a new genre. While his, "non-animal" song is my favorite by Andrew Bird. This song is how I was introduced to his work. I liked that this performance wasn't about grand lights or high energy. It was artistic expression through profound skill of instrumentation.
